CrabStack Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the Terms) govern your purchase and use of the CrabStack template and your use of the website at https://crabstack.dev (the Site), together with any related services provided by CrabStack (we, us, or our). By purchasing a license, creating an account, or otherwise using CrabStack, you agree to these Terms and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not access the Site or use any service we provide. CrabStack is operated from Sweden. We reserve the right to review and amend these Terms at our sole discretion; when we do, we will update this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Any changes take effect from the date of publication. These Terms were last updated on 16 June 2026.

What CrabStack Is

CrabStack is a production-grade SaaS starter template, delivered to you as source code. A purchase is a one-time license, not a subscription. On payment, you receive a read-only collaborator invitation to a private GitHub repository containing the full source, and you retain access to updates published to that repository for the life of the product. There are no recurring charges, and no per-seat or per-user renewal fees.

Your License

Your purchase grants you an ongoing, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the CrabStack template and its source code (the Software), as set out in the full License Agreement that ships inside the repository. In summary:

  • You may use the Software to build unlimited applications, for yourself or for clients, in commercial or non-commercial projects, and deploy them on any hosting provider.
  • You may modify the Software to suit your needs.
  • You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or publish the Software as a standalone product, template, starter kit, or boilerplate, and you may not create a substantially similar competing template from it.
  • You may not share repository access with anyone not covered by your license tier, and you may not remove license notices from the Software.

The Personal license grants access to one individual. The Team license grants access to up to five individuals within the same company or organization. Both tiers permit unlimited projects. The License Agreement included in the repository is the controlling document for the scope of the license; these Terms govern the broader relationship between you and us.

Accounts

A purchase does not require an account; you can buy a license as a guest. Some features of the Site use an optional account, which you create through a third-party sign-in provider (GitHub or Google) or a magic link sent to your email. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in method, for the GitHub account you nominate to receive repository access, for all activity that occurs under your account, and for providing accurate and current information. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

Delivery and Repository Access

License delivery is a read-only collaborator invitation to the private GitHub repository, sent to the GitHub username you provide at checkout. To deliver your purchase, we share that username with GitHub, Inc. so the invitation can be created. You are responsible for providing a valid GitHub username and for accepting the invitation. Access is tied to your license tier; access shared beyond the people covered by your tier is a breach of these Terms and the License Agreement.

Payment, Taxes, and Seller of Record

CrabStack is the seller and merchant of record for all transactions. Payments are processed by Stripe (stripe.com), which acts solely as our payment processor. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Prices are shown on the pricing section of the Site and are charged once. Applicable sales tax or VAT is calculated at checkout based on your billing location, and we are responsible for its collection and remittance. If you have a question about a charge, invoice, refund, or tax, contact us at hello@crabstack.dev.

Refunds

Because the Software is source code that cannot be returned once repository access has been granted, all sales are final, subject to the limited exceptions described in our Refund Policy. Please read that policy before you buy.

Acceptable Use of the Site

By using the Site, you agree that you will not: modify, copy, decompile, or reverse engineer the Site or its underlying software, except as expressly permitted by your license to the Software; remove any proprietary notices from the Site; use the Site in a way that abuses, disrupts, or overloads our networks or services; use the Site to transmit unlawful, harassing, fraudulent, or infringing material; use the Site to send unsolicited advertising or spam; or use the Site in any way that infringes the rights of others or violates any applicable law.

Intellectual Property

The intellectual property in the Software and on the Site is owned by or licensed to CrabStack. You own the applications you build with the Software; you do not own the Software itself. Your purchase is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title. This license terminates automatically if you breach its restrictions, and may be terminated by us for any breach of these Terms or the License Agreement.

AI Agents and Automated Use

The Software ships agent conventions and an admin MCP server intended for use with AI coding agents, and the Site itself is designed so that AI assistants can read and relay accurate information about the product. You are solely responsible for how you operate the Software and for the actions of any AI agents you connect to applications you build with it. We do not control or verify the outputs of third-party AI tools, and we are not liable for their actions.

Service Updates

We may update the Site and the Software from time to time to improve functionality, security, and reliability. Updates to the Software are published to the repository included with your license. We may change the features available on any tier with reasonable notice.

Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Site and the Software are provided on an AS IS and AS AVAILABLE basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site or the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any defect will be corrected.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CrabStack and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or the Software. Our total aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of (a) the total license fees you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) EUR 100. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or the limitation of liability for certain damages, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CrabStack and its operators from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Site or the Software, your violation of these Terms or the License Agreement, the applications you build and operate with the Software, or actions taken by any AI agents or automated tools you deploy. This obligation survives termination of your license.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site, the repository, and your rights under these Terms immediately on notice for any breach of these Terms or the License Agreement. On termination, the obligations that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) continue in effect.

Severance

Any provision of these Terms that is wholly or partially void or unenforceable is severed to the extent it is void or unenforceable. The validity of the remainder of these Terms is not affected.

Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises between you and CrabStack, we ask that you first contact us at hello@crabstack.dev so we can try to resolve the matter informally. We aim to respond to all dispute-related communications within 10 business days. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, either party may pursue formal legal proceedings. For consumers in the EU or EEA, nothing in this section limits your right to bring a claim before the courts of your country of residence or to use the European Commission Online Dispute Resolution platform.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sweden, and you submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of Sweden. For consumers in the EU or EEA, this choice does not override any mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence, and you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts where you are domiciled.
